Tight deadlines, a packed family calendar and the rising cost of living mean many of us are plagued by stress. But you can put your worries aside: the mindfulness courses available through SWICA will help you feel much more relaxed about day-to-day life.
Your wellbeing is important to us. That’s why we encourage you to participate in MBSR or TLEX mindfulness courses. SWICA customers with Completa Forte, Praevita and Optima supplementary insurance plans can claim annual contributions of up to 900 francs towards these courses.
Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is an eight-week programme developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. SWICA customers can claim contributions of up to 900 francs per year towards an MBSR course (find out more).
The MBSR programme teaches you healthier and more conscious ways of dealing with stress in everyday life. Many participants feel less anxious and prone to stress after taking the course, reporting that it left them feeling calmer, more relaxed and more positive about life.
TLEX courses and coaching involve a combination of breathing techniques and mindfulness exercises. The overarching aim is to strengthen your resilience and wellbeing. The breathing techniques release your untapped energy and reduce stress. The mindfulness exercises help you stop the constant cycle of thoughts inside your head and live in the “now”.
The seminars and coaching sessions last six to ten hours, spread over a period of 30 days. The course helps you to gradually develop the techniques and embed them into your everyday life. SWICA customers can claim up to 900 francs (find out more) per year towards their TLEX courses.
SWICA covers 90% of the costs under your Completa Forte supplementary insurance plan, up to a maximum of 300 francs per calendar year. Praevita supplementary insurance covers an additional 50% of the costs up to a maximum of 300 francs per year. Optima supplementary insurance covers 90% of the costs over and above this amount, up to a maximum of 300 francs per calendar year. This amounts to preventive healthcare contributions of up to 900 francs per year in total.
